Kylie Style

Kylieyear

We are looking to form a racing partnership to race our filly, now named Kylie Style. A racing partnership is composed of 2 to 20 members and we intend offering leasing options of a minimum share size of 2.5%, with the opportunity to purchase that share at an extra cost.

Kylie Style is by the late French Guineas winner Aussie Rules and is the first foal of Footstepsinthesand’s daughter Stilettoesinthemud. She was foaled on the 30th January 2015 at Longdon Stud and would appear to be an early type.  Stilettoesinthemud won at 6 furlongs and showed her best form over sprint distances.  She is one of 8 offspring of racing age of the Singspiel mare The Stick. All 8 have made the racecourse, the first 6 have won races. The two youngest, though not yet winners, have both been placed second as two year olds. Shalalee,  a 4 year old daughter of The Stick, was recently placed in a Listed race in Sweden acquiring ‘black type’.

Aussie Rules was chosen as sire as he has combined successfully with daughters of Giants Causeway , Rainbow Quest (in Stillys Paternal  pedigree) and Singspiel (maternal side) mares. The mating was, and would still have been, the best choice within the confines of geography and budget.  The hope was to produce a durable runner with a good chance of ability. Stilettoeinthemud has since had a colt yearling by Sir Percy and has a filly foal by Fast Company and is now in foal to Mayson.
Stilettoeinthemud has been a ‘sparky’ character.  She is first to the feed trough, would nosey in gardens when ridden out on the road, and always wanted to get on with it when training and racing.  This included anticipating the starter, not always ideal particularly at Chester, so a hood was later applied to muffle the starters call.  So far Kylie’s approach to food is similar to her mothers, we shall see what other likenesses exist.

We have engaged  Steph  Hollinshead  to train Kylie who she has known since birth as she trains from Longdon in Staffordshire where Kylie was born.  Steph’s number of winners have increased year on year since starting training in late 2013, and she took a juvenile to Royal Ascot this year.

Unfortunately a paddock accident causing a soft tissue shoulder wound has delayed entering races until September 2017 but she has been a professional throughout her training. This was her first 'school report'. ‘Just to let you know Kylie is coming along fine, she's so sharp and quick to learn I'd be surprised if she didn't make a fairly early 2yr old. She has shown a good attitude to everything we've asked so far but obviously the jockey is always the biggest test so I'll keep you posted over the next few weeks.. This was confirmed on 28/12 with next report ‘So far so good with Kylie, making good progress and showing a willing attitude. I think she's certainly sharp like mom, but not used it against us yet.

Any involvement in racehorses should not be considered a particularly sound financial commitment. It has been said that the only way of making a small fortune in racing is to start with a large one. More accurately the latest stats suggest for every £1 spent the return is around 25 pence from racing in Britain.

The prices we are quoting are an inclusive leasing fee to include training, admin and racing costs up until Sales date in October 2018. No extra costs will be added.  This also includes Kylie being enrolled in the plus10 race bonus scheme. All race winnings for leaseholders (we hope for but cannot promise such earnings) will be returned to shareholders at the end of the syndicate term.  If in the exciting event that big races come on the radar we reserve the right to dip into the prize pot if it makes sense to boost earnings by entering such races.

We hope to have fun along the way not just at the races but stables visits, planning which races to enter (so long as we are not standing on Stephs toes), and even seeing Kylie's relatives at the stud. Contact me on acgray63@hotmail.com or Proxygene Bloodstock via FaceBook if you have any questions.

We have reformulated pricing to allow leasing of Kylie Style until the October 2018 Sales.

Leasing prices 2.5% share £700; 5% share £1,275; 10% share £2,400, others on request.
